ALL-CHURCH WORK DAY
Lend a Hand at the All-Church Work Day
Time for a little spring cleaning! We need your helping hands to spruce up the church. Join us for the all-church work day Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

THE PIPES OF FPC
Sunday, May 19, 2013, 4 p.m.
An afternoon of flute and organ music including the unveiling of a new stop of the organ which was made possible by a generous donation by Judy Kenyon in memory of her husband William. Featuring Joe McConathy on organ and Dawn Grapes on flute.

PIZZA & MOVIE NIGHT
Wednesday, May 22, 6 p.m.
Bring your blankets, pillows or chairs, and friends to enjoy pizza, popcorn, candy, soda, and watching The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. A silent auction will benefit Youth Ministries summer mission trips.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
At Kingdom Rock VBS, kids age 4-3rd grade will enter an epic adventure that empowers them to stand strong with God. Here, God’s victorious power isn’t a fairy tale—it changes kids forever!

Meet Truman, Duke, Swift, Sir Valiant, and Victoria, Bible Buddies who help children understand how God's love, family and friends, prayer, trusting God, and the Bible all help us STAND STRONG.  This year, with the all-new Kingdom Rock Bible Buddies app, kids can make 3-D buddies move and say the Bible verse and point!

At 9 a.m. each day, children storm into Shepardson Hall, eager to meet Bible buddies, sing fun worship songs, watch silly skits, and learn more about what the Bible says about standing strong with God. Kids can’t get enough of the upbeat music (VBS CDs are currently available in the church office for $7), games, crafts, snacks, Chadder’s theater, and Bible exploration.

Invite a friend, neighbor, or relative for a rocking good time at Kingdom Rock VBS, June 10–14, 2013, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. The suggested donation is $20. Scholarships are available. Contact Jennifer Kenyon, (970) 484-0985 to volunteer or for more information.

KINGDOM KONNECTION
Children who have just completed 4th and 5th grades love a week of fun and service in a program designed just for older kids.
At Kingdom Konnection, kids will learn about standing strong with God, but will also have a chance to spend time with community children at a local book mobile, encourage Highpark Fire victims with hand-made cards, and bless senior church members by spending time doing crafts and activities together.

We will worship with VBS and have devotions daily, and we hope to finish the week at City Park Pool!

The cost is $30 and includes activity fees, transportation, and a Kingdom Konnection T-shirt. Kingdom Connection takes place at the same time as Kingdom Rock VBS, June 10–14, 2013, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.

REV. JON HEERINGA TO LEAVE FPC
Rev. Jon Heeringa has been offered a call to be the Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, Virginia. That call begins June 3, so we are having a congregational meeting next Sunday, May 26, at 9:30 a.m. to dissolve his pastoral relationship here. We encourage you to attend this important meeting and also to look over the terms of dissolution we will need to approve.

Immediately after the meeting, we will celebrate his ministry here with a farewell party in Shepardson Hall. Please come and bid the Heeringa family farewell.
