THE NURSERY |
 |
 |
The Nursery Ministry’s aim is to introduce the love of Jesus Christ to every child that enters our care. We do this through Bible stories, playing and loving each child. In addition, during our 9:30 a.m. Sunday School hour we use Gospel Light’s “Little Blessings” curriculum designed specifically for babies and toddlers. This curriculum centers on Jesus’ love for children and families. We want your child to know this love and experience it early in their lives.
Our Nursery staff is the best. While your children are in the nursery we want you to be confident that they are in a safe and loving environment. Each staff member is CPR/First Aid certified and has passed an extensive background check. Our adult volunteers also pass extensive background checks. We require that there be at least two staff members on duty anytime the nursery is open and at least one of staff must be at least 21 years old.
The check-in area includes "cubbies" for diaper bags and the play area is divided into separate areas for babies and toddlers. This space arrangement allow us to do hands-on art projects and other type activities with the older toddlers.
NURSERY HOURS:
SUNDAY: Nursery is provided for all Sunday morning services (8, 9:30, and 11 a.m.).

ABC'S OF WORSHIP FOR CHILDREN |
 |
 |
Here at FPC, children are welcomed and encouraged to participate in a worship service with their families. We believe that children who attend services from a young age put a higher value on the importance of worship as they grow into their adult lives.
The following ABC's of Worship are suggestions for parents of young children to help make the worship experience a plesant experience for the entire family.
ARRIVE in time to find a place to sit so that your child will have a better view. Please be sure your children have used the bathroom before entering the Sanctuary.
BRING a book or quiet activity to occupy your children during the sermon if they are too young to sit quietly and listen. Please help your children learn that they are not to distract those who are worshiping nearby.
CLUE in the children as to what is happening next in worship and help them participate. Children can share in the Call to Worship, prayers, doxology and praise songs. Let them find the Scripture passage in the pew Bible and the hymns in the hymnbook. Give them the family’s offering to put in the collection plate.
DISCUSS at home the importance of worship. Prepare your children for any special features of the service that day, such as Baptism or the Lord’s Supper. After church, make time to answer questions about the worship experience.
ENCOURAGE children to pick up a Children’s Bulletin from your usher. Brightly colored tie-dyed bags are also available in the Narthex for your child. Each bag contains a clipboard, pencil and crayons in it. Activities sheets are available on the bag cart for your child to use during the service. Help them to learn to be attentive listeners during the service and to participate according to their reading levels and attention spans.
