GENERAL BUDGET GIVING |

At First Presbyterian Church, we understand that Christian stewardship involves our entire lives. By keeping Jesus Christ in the first place (Colossians 1:18), and by His grace, we are able to keep the rest of our lives in order. Our financial commitment is only a part of yielding our time, talent and treasure to the Lord. And we know that we cannot outgive God! Everything that we give will return to us in some fashion out of the Lord’s abundance. The first step is committing our lives to Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, and trusting Him as our loving companion.
This means that the Lord does not want our money unless and until we have given Him our hearts and our entire lives. The Lordship of Jesus Christ extends to every area of our existence. Our time, our gifts and talents, and our financial resources all come from Him, and we are to use them all for His glory. For many years, we have asked that, as our members and friends mature in their faith that they grow towards giving a tithe (10%) of their income to the Lord's work. But even more than arriving at this Biblical guideline of the tithe, we desire for people to pray, to come before God and to faithfully respond to what the Lord is asking of them. We want people to give what their love for God would warrant as they decide in the intimacy of their relationship with Jesus Christ. We know that as people take this process seriously, the Lord will provide for the needs of this, His ministry. Thank you for praying, for believing and for giving to the Lord’s work at First Presbyterian Church!
