FAITH ALIVE AIDS CLINIC, JOS, NIGERIA
Faith Alive is a Christian clinic that mostly serves HIV/AIDS patients free of charge, providing medical care and medications, counseling, and school scholarships and training for children and adults. Dr. Chris Isichei, along with his wife Dr. Mercy Isichei, founded this clinic in response to the overwhelming humanitarian crisis that’s especially hard in sub-Saharan Africa. First Presbyterian Church Fort Collins has sent numerous members and pastors Rich McDermott and Cindy Frost to see first-hand the lifesaving affects of this clinic. Your prayers are greatly appreciated for this clinic that "infects" people with the love of Jesus Christ. To learn more, go to faithalivenigeria.org.

SAVE A LIFE
One person at a time against HIV/AIDS
Currently at the Faith Alive Clinic over 3,200 HIV+ patients are receiving lifesaving anti-retroviral (ARV) medications. However, there are over 9,000 people (Christians and Muslims), many of whom are widows and children, who have tested HIV+ at the clinic but are not yet receiving ARV medications there because they need funding and sponsorships.

What can one person do in the face of this overwhelming number? For a mere 50 cents per day, about the cost of one latte per week ($183 a year), you can make a huge difference in one person’s life by financing their ARV drugs.

There are two ways you can help:

  1. Sponsor a patient’s medications for $183 per year for the length of his/her life.

  2. Make a general donation to the Save-A-Life Program.

This program is co-lead by church members Erika Nossokoff, director and Sara Hunt, administrator. To learn more about the Faith Alive Clinic, go to Faith Alive's website.

GENERAL DONATIONS
The clinic is always in need of funds for various projects, including food for their food bank (called FANOL Bank, or Faith Alive Necessities of Life), vitamins and supplies for their FANOL paste (peanut butter nutritional program), and additional medicines and medical supplies.

If you would like more information about making a donation, please contact Erika Nossokoff.

MISSION TRIPS
When Dr. Chris Isichei is asked what the greatest need is for the clinic, he says ‘human resources.’ He encourages people to come visit Jos, and FPC plans occasional short-term trips there. If you have a specific skill that might be helpful there, or if you just want to travel there to learn more, please prayerfully consider if God might be calling you to travel to Jos. If you are interested in going on a trip, or would like to make a financial donation to someone else who is going, please contact Erika Nossokoff.

SCHOOL SPONSORSHIPS
First Presbyterian Church is offering full and partial scholarships to children at Elim Elementary School in Jos, Nigeria. This Christian school teaches children through sixth grade, some of whom are orphans and affected by HIV/AIDS. Kate Clement is the Headmistress and is also a volunteer at the Faith Alive Clinic’s Support Group. If you would like to sponsor a child, please contact Erika Nossokoff.
