Rev. Eric LAnge
INterim Senior PAstor
Rev. Eric Lange is passionate about transitional ministry—helping faithful communities listen for the movement of the Spirit, recognize what God may be doing next, and move with courage in new directions. He is an energetic and encouraging leader who enjoys uncovering potential in others, developing leaders, and helping people and congregations imagine what might be possible.
Since 2019, Eric has served as Executive Director of the Dale House Project in Colorado Springs, a faith-based organization serving young adults navigating trauma, housing instability, family disruption, and the transition into adulthood. His years at Dale House have been an extended season of transitional leadership—guiding shifts in mission, organizational structure, and culture among a staff of as many as 25 people. Eric leaves Dale House more convinced than ever that effective ministry depends on healthy relationships, and that healthy relationships are built by showing up consistently, listening carefully, creating belonging, and helping people recognize the gifts and possibilities God has placed within them.
Before coming to Colorado Springs, Eric served as Interim Co-Pastor of Fort Street Presbyterian Church in downtown Detroit, helping lead the congregation through a season of visioning, organizational transition, and preparation for its next installed pastor. He has also served in church settings in Philadelphia and Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and for the past six years has preached regularly in small PC(USA) congregations throughout Colorado’s San Luis Valley.
Eric holds a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University. He also holds a Certificate in Not-for-Profit Management from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis.
Eric and his wife, Rev. Anne Lange, have three children: Amos, who turns 13 this month; Jude, 11; and Beatrice, 9. They will not be making the regular commute to Fort Collins with Eric, although First Pres will certainly get to know them from time to time.
Eric and Anne have shared many years of ministry and nonprofit life together, including serving alongside one another at the Dale House Project and as co-interim pastors in the PC(USA). As a family, they value hospitality, humor, curiosity, and being rooted in communities where people know and care for one another.
Eric is an avid reader and lifelong learner with particular interests in theology, history, culture, leadership, and the challenges of Christian life in a fragmented society. He loves preaching and biblical study and usually has several books, sermon ideas, and writing projects competing for his attention.
Eric’s first day in the office will be September 1, and we will welcome him to the pulpit on Sunday, September 6.
