Being transplanted to Fort Collins as a young teen proved to be hugely influential for Cathy. Within days of arriving in this Colorado town, she was introduced to FPC, and the rest is history. Cathy became active in the FPC Youth Group, served as a youth deacon, served on the youth council, and later took photographs for the church directory. And most importantly, FPC introduced Cathy to her high school sweetheart and future husband, Seth Sandstrum.

Cathy developed a love of the English language and a well-crafted story as a Rotary International Youth Exchange Student in Yorkshire, England. She finds inspiration and beauty in a fragile flower or lush landscape, the melody of a choral anthem, and the drama of musical theater. Cathy seeks to create and share such beauty every day.

Cathy has been employed in churches for more than 20 years. She returned to FPC in 2007 to focus on communications.

Cathy and Seth have an active home with three boys and two dogs. Cathy spends any free time enjoying musical theatre and crafting.
