Building Project Update —April 2026

Timeline

  • We are hopeful that the interior of the building, minus the elevator connections, will be finished in time to bring items stored at Fort Collins Mobile Storage back before the end of May.

  • The elevator completion is still set for mid-to-late June.

  • A final monthly payment to Elder will likely occur in August.

Finances

  • We have now received $5,091,572 in fulfillment of capital campaign pledges. This represents 88% percent fulfillment with approximately $750,000 remaining.

  • Due to this extraordinary result, including a large recent donation of stock and cash, we are again able to put off our first draw on the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Foundation loan by another month. We now expect to make that draw in May, and additional draws are likely through the summer months.

  • A foundation representative, Clayton Thomas, will make a presentation to the congregation on April 26.

Elder Construction Progress

  • Fireline. The excavation for the fire line connection from Myrtle Street to our building has begun. We are sending messages about disruptions as best we can as the schedule evolves.

  • Elevator. Progress continues with steel beams in place and framing work advancing. Concrete has been repoured on the adjacent sidewalk, and Elder will be moving construction fencing to enable access to the lobby doors on Sundays.

  • Sewer Line issue. The lift station installation in the bar area of the kids’ cave is progressing as planned and is not expected to further delay elevator construction.

  • Interior. Installation of LVT flooring, carpet (in library and bell room), new cabinetry in the nursery, door wraps, and upgraded internet cable is now well advanced. Library bookshelves have been moved back in, and Elder will reinstall them.

Partners

  • La Familia/Mi Voz informed us they will not be moving back into our building, having found suitable accommodation at the United Way building.

  • As a result, Church World Service is now planning to occupy two rooms on the third floor.

  • A facilities use agreement with Church World Service is in the works.
